Npower Exited Beneficiaries Registration Portal 2020

The Federal Government has unveiled a portal, NEXIT , for former N-power beneficiaries to apply for other Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Empowerment Options. The platform, which was developed in collaboration with the CBN, will enable exited N-power beneficiaries to log on and apply for the various economic, empowerment and entrepreneurship options provided by the CBN. Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq, encouraged interested exited beneficiaries of N-power to log on to the portal and provide the required additional information for possible placements into the various CBN intervention options. In a statement by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Bashir Alkali, it was emphasised that the NEXIT PORTAL will determine the suitability of the beneficiaries for the CBN affiliated programs. Kidnappers allegedly shoot dead cleric in Ekiti

A cleric, Revd. Johnson Oladimeji , of Solution Baptist Church , Ikere Ekiti, was on Friday found dead in his car along the Igbara Odo – Ikere Ekiti Road. Sources alleged that he was shot dead in his car on Thursday while returning to Ikere Ekiti from a trip to Osun State. According to a source , his worried church and family members , who had expected him back on Thursday had organized a search party which later found him dead in his car on the road not far away from the University of Education , Science and Technology, Ikere Ekiti. A new report released by the Global Terrorism Index (GTI) has ranked Nigeria , for the sixth consecutive year, as the third most terrorized country in the world. The report which was released on Wednesday, November 25, ranked Afghanistan as the number one most terrorized country in the world, followed by Iraq. Syria, Somalia, and Yemen are ranked fourth, fifth, and sixth respectively. The report however stated that terror-related incidents in Nigeria fell by 27% in the same period. This was attributed to a significant reduction in violence attributed to killer herdsmen. “Despite an overall decline in terrorism, Boko Haram, Nigeria’s deadliest terrorist group, recorded an increase in terrorist activity mainly targeted at civilians. 6 Nigerians convicted for funding Boko Haram

A Federal Court in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has convicted six Nigerians over alleged funding of Boko Haram. The conviction was upheld by the appellate court after they lost an earlier appeal at a lower court. Two of the convicts – Surajo Abubakar Muhammad and Saleh Yusuf Adamu were sentenced to life imprisonment, while the rest – Ibrahim Ali Alhassan, AbdurRahman Ado Musa, Bashir Ali Yusuf and Muhammad Ibrahim Isa, got ten-year prison sentences each. According to court documents, between 2015 and 2016, the convicts were involved in cash transfers totalling $782,000.00 to Boko Haram. A Twitter user has alleged that cartons of noodles which are COVID-19 palliatives from Nigeria have been spotted for sale in London. The palliatives, contributed under the Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) scheme during the peak of the pandemic was meant to be distributed to Nigerians to cushion the effect of the virus on the life of citizens. Chisom @_PLICE shared a screenshot of the message he received from a UK resident who took a snapshot of the branded palliative noodles he came across at an African market in East ham, London. According to the message, it was learnt that the food items were allegedly imported into London by a Chinese UK company. 76-year-old President Museveni officially nominated by Uganda Electoral Commission to contest for 6th term after 34 years in power

President Yoweri Museveni was on Monday, November 2, nominated by the Uganda Electoral Commission to contest in 2021 general election as he seeks to extend his rule to the fourth decade. He claims the married man, whose wife is abroad, visited his side chic unannounced and saw she was cheating on him with another man. In anger, he collected the iPhone he bought for her. The side chic went to her married lover’s house to fight and retrieve her phone and when she didn’t succeed, she reported him to police officers in a police station in Rumuokoro. Nine Nigerians Contesting In Tuesday’s U.S. Elections

No fewer than nine Nigerian Americans are on the ballot in Tuesday’s general elections in the United States, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports. The federal government’s Special Public Works (SPW) programme aimed at employing 774,000 youths across the 774 local government councils will kick off today, with a formal launch expected on Friday. The project which was initially slated to commence October 1 was shifted to November after the minister of state for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo (SAN) had written a memo to President Muhammadu Buhari, informing him that most of the proposed project sites were still water-logged as the rains had not abated. However, Tunde Moshood, the special assistant on media to the minister of state for Labour and Employment, told our correspondent over the phone that a formal launch will now be next Friday, November 6. He said, “Yes, it is going ahead. November first is Sunday, so there can’t be an official lunch on Sunday”.
