The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released results of 118 National Assembly seats out of the 469. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that from ongoing collations since elections on Saturday, 44 winners have been announced for Senatorial positions out of 109 as at 3 p.m. on Tuesday. Eleven winners emerged from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), 32 from All Progressives Congress (APC) and one from Young Progressive Party (YPP). Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate and incumbent president, Muhammadu Buhari as the winner of the 2019 Presidential election on Wednesday. Buhari defeated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and other presidential candidates with a difference of 3,928,869 votes, winning in 19 of the states. Breaking: Armed thugs allegedly hijack ballot boxes
The Candidate of the PDP in the Bayelsa East Senatorial district of the State, Chief Ipigansi Izagara has raised alarm over alleged hijack of election materials in Nembe Basambiri and Okoroba areas of the state. According to him, the shooting and hijack of materials were sponsored by the opposition party supporters and alleged that one person has been killed and five others injured. He said the armed attack against PDP members started around 10pm on Friday with chasing out of PDP members in the area, “they have hijacked materials from our area with the assistance of soldiers ” Also speaking, a chieftain of the PDP from Okoroba community in Nembe council, Benjamin, also alleged that in ward 11,12 and 13 of the area, the materials have been diverted with the aide of security agents. “We have been waiting and did not see materials and ad-hoc staff from INEC. Massive Explosions Rock Maiduguri
A series of explosions was heard in the northeast Nigerian city of Maiduguri on Saturday, just hours before the opening of polls in presidential and parliamentary elections. Multiple blasts were heard at about 6:00 am (0500 GMT), locals told AFP. There was no immediate indication of the cause but the city has been repeatedly attacked by Boko Haram Islamists.

Musa Imoran, a suspected member of an armed robbery gang, behind series of attacks in Ajegunle and environs, has been arrested. Imoran and his gang had allegedly gone out on a robbing spree on February 19, snatching phones and bags along Agugu street, Ajegunle, when he met his Waterloo. He was arrested with one pump action gun with 20 unexpended cartridges, two pairs of hand gloves, two chains and belts. He later led the operatives to their armoury where an additional pump action rifle with 30 unexpended cartridges, one AK-47 magazine with 24 live ammunition 100 rounds of Beretta Pistol ammunition were recovered.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has said the conclusion of declaration of the 2019 Presidential Election results would not take longer than the 2015 elections in spite of the sheer number of presidential candidates, size of the result sheets and increased voter population. This was as the commission said it has achieved a 100 percent reconfiguration of its 180, 000 smart card readers ahead of the Presidential and National Assembly Elections on Saturday. INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu disclosed this Wednesday in Abuja while briefing journalists on the state of preparedness of the commission for the polls. “At yesterday’s briefing, we reported that we achieved 95% configuration of the Smart Card Readers SCR nationwide. The Benue State Police Command has reacted to the murder of Boniface Okloho , who was murdered by unknown gunmen on Saturday night.
