The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has said it cannot interfere in the allegation against him Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA). While reacting to the development, CAN President, Supo Ayokunle, said the body does not interfere in the running of churches. His media aide, Oladeji Adebayo, noted that CAN only concerns itself with serving as an intermediary between the church and the government. “I am sorry CAN does not intervene in how churches are running. Churches belong to denominations and these are the two bodies that regulate how pastors run their ministries, not CAN. CAN deal with inter-religious matters and stands between the church and the government,” he told Reporters. It will be recalled that Busola, the wife of a musician, Timi Dakolo, had alleged that Pastor Fatoyinbo of COZA raped her twice when she was a teenager. However, Fatoyinbo has denied the allegation and threatened to take legal actions against her. 

Wife to Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo has broken silence on the rape allegations by Timi Dakolo’s wife, Busola againsther husband, who diubles as General Overseer of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, COZA. Busola, the wife of popular singer, Timi Dakolo had alleged that the COZA founder had forcefully raped her when she was young. The mother-of-three narrated how Pastor Fatoyinbo allegedly forced his way into her when she was a teenager. Fatoyinbo, however, denied the allegation, though admitted that Busola once attended the same church with his family. The clergyman consequently ordered his lawyers to institute both criminal and civil cases against Busola. Speaking in COzA Abuja on Sunday morning, Pastor Modele Fatoyinbo denied allegation against her husband According to her:- “My husband cannot rape anyone even as an unbeliever.” Meanwhile there is heavy police and security presence at Abuja headquarters of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, COZA on Sunday morning. 

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, on Saturday declared that he met the sum of one hundred and fifty billion naira (N150b) debt when he took over from his predecessor, Mr. Abiola Ajimobi on May 29 this year. Makinde, who made this declaration while featuring at a media chart to mark thirty (30) days of his government in Ibadan, the state capital, however, insisted to probe Ajimobi if he fails to disturb his government. The Governor, while answering questions from the panellists at the media chart held at the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS), said though his government was still collating the debt profile of the last administration, the sum of one hundred and fifty billion naira had been uncovered in the last thirty days. Makinde while speaking further, threatened to expose Ajimobi, if he (Ajimobi) continues to disturb his administration. He said a sum of N1.3 billion seized from past government official and confiscated to the Federal Government was being pursued

Mr Tola Johnson, a presidential aide, has commended the National Agency for the Administration of Food and Drug Control (NAFDAC), for suspending its recent hike of tariffs of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Johnson, a Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on MSMEs, recalled that the recent increase of MSMEs tariff to 60 per cent by NAFDAC made pressure groups and MSMEs across the country to agitate and express dissatisfaction because it was not favourable. The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) on Tuesday said it will demolish 8,805 masts belonging to Globacom Nigeria Limited, banks and other financial institutions. Its spokesman Sam Adurogboye in a statement, said the demolition will also affect some banks and other financial institutions which discountenanced NCAA’s regulatory requirements on clearance to erect any high structure within the navigable airspace. A woman has died while swimming in the Bahamas after being attacked by a shark. A 21-year-old California woman has been killed by three tiger sharks while she was swimming in the Bahamas with her family, according to local reports. Jordan Lindsay of Los Angeles County had her right arm severed in the attack, officials from the Bahamas said, according to KABC. She was also bitten on her legs and buttocks in the attack. Her family reportedly saw the sharks while she was swimming and shouted to her but Lindsay didn’t hear them before the attack on Rose Island, which is just northeast of Nassau. “The Ministry of Tourism, on behalf of the Government and the people of The Bahamas expresses its condolences and deepest sympathies to the family and loved ones of the victim of Wednesday’s shark attack off Rose Island, near New Providence,” Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation officials said in a statement.

A new report, on Wednesday, rated Lagos as the fourth costliest city in Africa, moving up 17 places from last year’s ranking by research firm, Mercer. N’Djamena, Chad, had the highest ranking in Africa, followed by Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Libreville, Gabon in second and third places, respectively. Mercer said the rating was influenced by a number of factors, including currency fluctuations, cost of inflation for goods and services, and volatility in accommodation prices. According to the report, in comparison with other cities in the world, Lagos, Nigeria, continues to remain attractive for foreign investments despite being one of the most expensive in Africa. “Having moved up 17 places from last year’s ranking, Nigeria’s commercial hub is one of Mercer’s top five costliest cities in Africa,” the report said. The Principal Leader, Africa Mobility at Mercer, Yolanda Sedlmaier, said each African country had its own unique economy. “This is why multination
