Prince Albert Of Monaco Recovers From Coronavirus

Prince Albert of Monaco has won his battle with the coronavirus, his daughter has revealed. The 62-year-old royal, who is the son of Prince Rainier and Princess Grace, announced earlier this month that he was battling the deadly illness, becoming the first head of state to test positive for the disease. On Tuesday, his daughter Jazmin Grimaldi posted photos on Instagram of Albert, 62, outside the Palace of Monaco. “Bravo! Prayers have been answered and my father has announced he is healed and healthy from the devastating coronavirus!” she wrote next to the image. Grimaldi, who recently appeared in Amazon’s “Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” added, “My heart goes out to all of the families and loved ones who have not been so lucky and have been and continue to be severely affected by the COVID-19! Italy Sees 812 More Coronavirus Deaths

The death toll from an outbreak of coronavirus in Italy has risen by 812 in the last 24 hours, the Civil Protection Agency said on Monday, reversing two days of declines. Italy, the world’s hardest hit country which accounts for more than a third of all global fatalities, saw its total death tally rise to 11,591 since the outbreak emerged in northern regions on Feb. 21. More positively, the number of new cases rose by just 4,050, the lowest amount since March 17, reaching a total of 101,739. However, the decline in new infections may be partly explained by a reduction in the number of tests, which were the fewest for six days. A plane carrying emergency medical supplies amid the coronavirus pandemic has crashed during takeoff before exploding into a fireball. The jet crashed at Manila International Airport in the Philippines reportedly killing all eight people on board. The flight was bound for Haneda, Japan. It had reportedly been chartered by the government and was carrying emergency supplies to the country as it battles against the spread of coronavirus. Footage from the crash scene showed huge flames as emergency services were scrambled, reports the Daily Star. Thick plumes of black smoke could also be seen billowing into the air from miles around the airport. Pictures later emerged of the burnt out wreckage after firefighters got the blaze under control. The images showed the plane sat on the tarmac of the runway completely destroyed. Nigeria Records Second Death From Coronavirus

The Nigerian Government has confirmed the second death from coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country. The Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, announced this on Monday during the Presidential Task Force Briefing on COVID-19 in Abuja, the nation’s capital. He stressed that Nigeria has 111 confirmed cases of COVID-19, saying a majority of them were persons who came in from overseas. According to the health minister, the highest number of confirmed cases are in Lagos and Abuja because they serve as the major gateways to the country. He also informed the gathering that all retired but able-bodied staff of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and the Federal Ministry of Health were being recalled. The PUNCH learnt that the retired Assistant Inspector General of Police died on Sunday. The LASTMA Director of Research and Statistics, Isaac Adetimiro, confirmed the incident to our correspondent on the telephone. Angry Youth Burn Police Station For Stopping Their Friday Prayer Over Coronavirus (Photos)

According to a report by The PUNCH, at least, one person lost his life on Saturday when a police station and the official quarters of a Divisional Police Officer were burnt down in Kusada, headquarters of Kusada Local Government Area of Katsina State. The riot was caused by the arrest of a religious group leader who allegedly led a Friday prayer in the town despite the state government’s directive banning large gatherings to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Seven vehicles and 10 motorcycles were also set ablaze during the riot. Ninety suspects have also been arrested in connection with the incident. Eyewitnesses said trouble started when one Mallam Hassan conducted Jumat prayer in one of the mosques in the town. The minister was reportedly found dead near a railway track on Saturday, stunning many people. It has been reported that Thomas Schaefer , the finance minister of Germany’s Hesse state, has committed suicide apparently. The minister reportedly killed himself after becoming “deeply worried” over how to cope with the economic fallout from the coronavirus, state premier Volker Bouffier said Sunday. The Israelis were evacuated via the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja to Tel-Aviv, Israel. COVID-19: Abuja pastor arrested for holding Sunday service

The Federal Capital Territory Administration on Sunday arrested a pastor for flouting the ban on gatherings as part of measures to prevent the community transmission of COVID-19.
