2019: We'll embarrass Buhari, Atiku with power of ideas- Tope Fasua

Image
The presidential candidate of Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party (ANRP), Tope Fasua, says Nigeria's major parties have failed the country. Fasua made the statement at the 2nd Edition of School of Governance and Politics. The discourse was centred on how to take governance and politics to the next enviable level in the political system of Nigeria. According to Fasua, the major political parties have failed the nation because of selfish interest and lack of ideological set up. In his words: “The time to save Nigeria is now and we are not going to wait again. We should begin to get involved in the developmental process.” He further stated that his party, the ANRP, “will embarrass Buhari and Atiku with power of ideas.” Meanwhile, founder of the Nehemiah Apostolic Resource Centre (NARC) and initiator of School of Governance and Politics, Pastor Obii Pax-Harry, in her remarks at the event, emphasised on the program, explaining that it's a training platform that seeks to develop N

PDP Won’t Accept ‘Fake Results’ In 2019 – Secondus

Image
The National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, has said the party will not accept any result of the 2019 general elections that is “fake.” Prince Secondus also, for the third time, demanded the resignation of the Chairman of INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, and the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, saying they had demonstrated that they could not be neutral in the electioneering process. Speaking at the opening session of the 83rd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the PDP yesterday in Abuja, Secondus said there would be crisis in the land if the elections were rigged by the ruling APC in connivance with INEC officials. Secondus said the PDP had the best presidential candidate for the elections and would resist any attempt to be rigged out. “We want to give this warning because we want peace in our nation. We are not going to make noise; but if anyone or the APC rigs the elections, there will be crisis in the country and we will not accept the re

How This Man Miraculously Survived After Shark Bit His Head (Photos)

In a touching Facebook post Krause said: “This Thanksgiving, I’m thankful (more than ever) for God’s kindness & protection over our family.” “3 months ago (Aug 20, 2018), I survived a shark attack to the head while spearfishing in the Abacos. I was 25 feet below the surface when the 6-7 ft Reef Shark struck the back of my head & neck.” “I miraculously escaped with several stitches, some gnarly scars, & a viral GoPro video (thanks to Zach Shipps & Stephen Murray).” He suffe

FG Reacts To Reports That Buhari Was Cloned In London

To this end, the House resolved to increase the budgetary allocation of the sector to the United Nations standard of 26 per cent from the present paltry seven percent. It also set up an adhoc committee to interface with the relevant Ministries, Department and Agencies, MDAs, of government in the sector to proffer best solutions on the issue. The resolutions followed a motion, titled: “Need to Reform Nigeria’s Tertiary Educational System”, sponsored by Ayodele Oladimeji. Moving the motion, Oladimeji said Nigerians now preferred sending their children abroad, a development he said was responsible for the neglect of the education sector. He said: “The House notes that strategic importance of education to any nation cannot be over emphasized being the fulcrum of national growth and development. “Also notes that tertiary education is the platform for

FG Begs United States Not To Grant Visa To Atiku

Image
The federal government has pleaded with the United States to be cautious in granting a visa to Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in order not to create the impression of endorsing him for the 2019 election. The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, gave the government position at an interactive session with media executives in Abuja on Thursday. Mr Mohammed said the government was aware of the move by the former vice president to lobby the U.S. to lift the visa ban imposed on him. He said while the U.S. has the prerogative of whom to issue visa, it should be mindful of the timing, in order not to give the impression that Atiku has been endorsed by the U.S. government. “We understand and appreciate the fact that it is the prerogative of the U.S. to grant a visa to anyone who applies. “However, we want the U.S. to be neutral and be wary of taking any decision that will give the impression that they are favouring or end

‘Champions League Different From Premier League’- Pep Guardiola

Image
Pep Guardiola says the Champions League is a completely different competition from the Premier League, after Manchester City struggled to a 2-2 draw at Lyon. City fought back twice on Tuesday night and secured qualification to the last 16 of this season’s Champions League, but the draw leaves them in need of a point against Hoffenheim to secure top spot in the group stage. Lyon wasted a number of glorious opportunities on a night where City failed to exert the same dominance they administer to their Premier League opponents. But Guardiola thinks it is unrealistic to expect the same from Manchester City in Europe. “The Champions League showed me again it is a different competition, especially for one reason: the players are better,” said Guardiola. “You have time in the Premier League, you can lose games in the Premier League and you still have 38 games to do. Here, there is huge quality. It is another completely different competition.”

French President Agrees To Return African Artworks ‘Stolen’ From Benin, Nigeria

Image
Report has it that the president if France, Emmanuel Macron has agreed to immediately return 26 African artworks claimed by Benin, Edo state, Nigeria. It was gathered that the decision on Friday came shortly after Macron received a report detailing how former colonisers can return looted artworks to Africa. According to AFP, government officials from Ethiopia to Senegal eagerly awaited the report, commissioned by Macron and compiled by French art historian, Benedicte Savoy, and Senegalese economist Felwine Sarr. It recommends that the thousands of items in French museums taken without consent during the colonial period be returned to the continent. Unless it can be proven that the objects were obtained legitimately, they should be returned to Africa permanently, the report’s authors say. Savoy and Starr also recommend changing the French law to allow the restitution of cultural works to Africa, after Macron announced that he wanted the process to begin within five years. F

Five Coca-Cola Secrets You Probably Don’t Know Of

Image
Coca-Cola is one soft drink that has been around for a long time but how much do you know about this iconic soda brand that is the favourite of millions of people the world over? It Was Advertised As Medicinal In the 1890s, Coke wasn’t just advertised as a refreshing, bubbly drink as its ads did make claims like “A Delightful Summer or Winter Drink. For Headache or Tired Feeling. Relieves Mental and Physical Exhaustion.” It Might Have Invented The Six-pack When you think of picking up a six-pack, beers might be the first drink that comes to mind. In 1923, home refrigerators were becoming more common, so people were more likely to bring home bottles to enjoy later. They could only hold so many in their hands at once, so Coca-Cola developed a cardboard carton that made it easy to carry six at once. Its Bottle Was Designed To Stiffly Competition In the early 1900s, it wasn’t easy to tell a Coca-Cola bottle apart from competitors such as Koka-Kola and Celery-Cola, so the compan

5 Things You Should Stop Bragging About

It is part of human nature to want to brag and seem better off than we actually are but there are a number of things you may want to think twice before bragging about. Ostentatious Autos Clichés exist because, invariably, they’re nothing more than silly ways of reciting simple truths—which is why bragging about your fine car is a little less appealing. That You Finished A Particular Book Unless you’re in a book club, your reading material is immaterial to anyone but you. Whether it’s the latest Harlequin novel you wined (and whined) about with your respective girlfriends, the latest ghostwritten book, a fantasy novel, tome you traded amongst your boys, or that 10,000 word New Yorker article on competitive composting that you’re so proud you finished, just do every one a favour and keep the recommendations brief and/or nonexistent to yourself. Reading may be fundamental but constantly hearing about WHAT your reading is no one’s idea of fun. Your Job Unless the employment

4 Things Everyone With Blood Type ‘O’ Should Know

Image
Your blood type or group is something you should have realised is very important by now and if you happen to have O type of blood, here are a number of things you should know. Pregnancy risks This has nothing to do with your “letter” blood type, or the type determined by the ABO grouping system. This has to do with the Rh factor, which determines whether your blood group is positive or negative. This factor could cause complications in pregnant women if the baby’s Rh type is different from the mother’s. For instance, if the mother has a negative blood type and the baby has a positive one, the mother’s body can actually build up antibodies against the baby’s blood type. Luckily, this doesn’t affect the baby, but it could have a disastrous effect on future pregnancies. Fortunately, doctors can give pregnant women a shot early in their pregnancy that can prevent Rh-incompatibility problems. Stroke: Type O has the lowest risk Researchers have found that people who have any othe

The police said they may also be charged with murder, attempted murder, rioting and malicious damage, upon the completion of their investigation. This was on 23 November. “Consequently, Police Patrol teams led by the Area Commander, Nnewi, ACP Nnanna Oji Ama, mobilised to the scene to prevent them from causing breakd

At the start of what Mourinho described as a key run of eight league games between now and the end of 2018, United produced an insipid display against opponents who are fighting to stay out of the relegation zone. “You must play with brain and also with heart and I think not enough heart,” he said. “We didn’t have that intensity that in my opinion is basically related with your brain, with your heart. There are games that are special games and not just one more, and this was a special game. “It was the first of eight Premier League games until the end of December and a game we needed to win, and it was not enough from the heart.” United have won just three of their nine games at Old Trafford this season. .
