Liverpool Vs Arsenal: Carabao Cup, Team News & Prediction

Liverpool welcome Arsenal on Wednesday in a tantalizing evening of Carabao Cup action at Anfield.

The Reds are unbeaten domestically since Wolverhampton Wanderers knocked them out of the FA Cup back in January and will be buoyed by their 2-1 comeback win over Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.Meanwhile, Unai Emery saw his men draw 2-2 at home to Crystal Palace after throwing away a two-goal lead over the south London club in what was a bitterly disappointing performance from the Gunners with captain Granit Xhaka feeling the full force of the Emirates crowd.

Team News

Liverpool are likely to make several changes from their weekend win over Spurs with the games coming thick and fast Jurgen Klopp may have to do without several key players; Mohamed Salah limped off on Sunday afternoon with a suspected ankle injury, while Van Dijk (dead leg) and Jöel Matip (knee) are unlikely to be risked considering the packed fixture list. Nathaniel Clyne (cruciate ligament injury) and Xherdan Shaqiri (calf) remain absent.Xhaka may be taken out of the firing line after Sunday’s antics, so Torreira should line up from the start in his place but Hector Bellerin is likely to start, however,  Emery may rest Keiran Tierney as the Scotland international still feels his way back toward full fitness. Gabriel Martinelli has been excellent for the Gunners in the Europa League and is likely to get a domestic run out here, but Reiss Nelson remains sidelined.
