Request For Leave of Absence, Late Registration Processes To Begin Online Soon - AAUA DVC Academic, Prof. Gbore
The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Prof. Francis Gbore, has said that the process of late registration, request for leave of absence and other related needs of students of the institution will be done via online starting from next session.
"We can't commence the process now until next session. The use of paper process will still be on all through this session"
The DVC said this last week Friday, 27th of September, 2019 while addressing students who are yet to do their course registration for first semester of this session and those who are yet to do such in previous session, as led by the Students Union President of the institution, Adesomojo Samuel.
Speaking on the 'stressful' process of payment of late registration which the students notified him of, Prof. Gbore said "Within two weeks of writing your request, it will be approved. It is the responsibility of your Head of Department to forward your letter to the Faculty Dean, and from the Faculty Dean to the Deputy Vice Chancellor, (Academic). The only thing you need do is to follow up the letter in case their is any mistake made by such person on the letter so it can be corrected on time"
He proceeded by saying he should be aware of any officer who delay letters unnecessarily and such person will be queried. He assured students name will be protected and there wouldn't be backfire on such student(s).
He also cleared waves on the amount of payment for late registration. He said, payment of late registration for the 2018/19 session is #2,000. He advised students to report to him any illegal transaction requested by anyone or officer above the amount to be charged.
Prof. Gbore conclusively told the students that the management will do everything to ensure that their academic pursue in the institution will not be at stake, on issues relating to them. He said, the Students Union President should write to the management, stating their requests, pleas, and demands from the management which will be attended to.
Earlier, the Students' Union President has requested that students who are affected with the inability of registering their course registration should assemble at the Students' Union Building (SUB) to process such requests.
