Stormzy, Wizkid, Davido, and all the other MOBO Awards winners

Since its inception in 1996, the Music of Black Origin – MOBO Awards has become one of Europe’s biggest Music Award ceremonies, and perhaps the most important and influential event for music makers and fans. The ceremony has celebrated excellence in music for 21 years now, recognising and honouring the artistic and technical achievements of exceptional British and international talent in Hip Hop, Grime, RnB/Soul, Reggae, Jazz, Gospel, and African music.

The 21st ceremony, which held at the First Direct Arena, Leeds, had our very own Wizkid winning Best International Act – over heavyweights like Jay Z, Drake, Cardi B, and Kendrick Lamar. Davido took the Best African prize, while Stormzy – with 3 awards – had the most wins.
