Image
Everybody wants to get rich, well maybe excluding monks, and while the appropriate way is through hard work and patience, many have looked the other ways and devised other illicit means of acquiring wealth. These often gifted individuals do not go around with guns or knives robbing people, rather, with their words and confidence tricks, cause more damage than armed robbers. These con artists, con men, or fraudsters have the ability to trick even the most defiant people into buying into outrageous and unbelievable schemes. Over the years there have been several popular con artists, but few have stood out either for the brilliance of their cons or the size of their schemes. Below are top 10 notable con men in history. 1. Charles Ponzi Charles Ponzi was an Italian swindler and con artist in the U.S. and Canada. He arrived into the U.S. from Italy in 1903, and in 1919, established the Securities Exchange Co., a company which promised investors a 50% profit within 45 days or 100% profit...

Below is a list of the top 5 authors with the largest paychecks in 2019 according to Forbes . 1. J.K. Rowling – $92 million Even without large book sales, the iconic J.K. Man Utd increase offer for Bruno Fernandes following Barcelona’s interest

Image
Manchester United have increased their offer for Bruno Fernandes twice in the past 24 hours, Sky Sports reports. It is believed the second bid is worth 55m euros (£46.59m). One of the proposed add-ons will see Sporting Lisbon receiving a further 10m euros, if Fernandes plays a certain number of games for United. This comes amid reports that Barcelona are in talks with Sporting and have proposed signing him this summer until 2025. However, the LaLiga champions want to loan him to Valencia until the end of the 2020-21 season. Barca’s bid also appears to match Sporting’s valuation, so the decision on which club to join will rest with the player. Sharing is Caring loading... Let's block ads! (Why?)

Socio-economic effects of the motorcycle and tricycle ban in Lagos

Lagos State has banned the operations of commercial motorcycles (okada) and tricycles (keke) in six local government areas in the state. The ban is expected to take effect from February 1 2020 and will affect Ikeja, Lagos Mainland, Lagos Island, Apapa, Surulere and Eti Osa. According to Gbenga Omotosho, commissioner for Lagos State information and strategy, the ban is the first stage of the state government’s plan to sanitize its “roads and protect Lagosians from the negative effects of these illegal modes of transportation.”  This isn’t the first time that the Lagos state government has attempted to implement such ban, every administration has at one point brandished the idea. However, it seems like Governor Sanwo-Olu has decided to take the bull by the horns, damning the backlash and consequences, especially on those it will ultimately affect.  Reactions have trailed this development as several people have stressed the negative effects that the ban is set to come with suc...

The funds were raised online through the www.giving.ng website and offline at the Sterling Eat Drink Festival where participants at the festival dropped wristbands and donated leftover funds to the cause. The mission saw them embark on a journey from their station in Lagos to Abuja, then to the KutaraTataradna IDP Camp, Nasarawa State.
