Senator Ademola Adeleke, the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in the recent Osun election has just been arraigned for impersonation. Before the Federal High Court in Abuja, Adeleke was arraigned on a four-count charge for alleged examination malpractice. He was arraigned by the police for presenting himself as a student of Ojo-aron community grammar school in his state in 2017. He has denied the allegation and alleged political witchhunt. He was brought to court with four other accused, including the school principal by the Nigerian police on Wednesday. Mr Adeleke was however granted bail on self-recognizance by Justice I E, Ekwo. The court ordered him to deposit his international passport with the registrar. Mr Adeleke was also asked to sign a bond stating that he will always be present at his trial.

The Nigerian Army said it has found the body of a missing general, Idris Alkali. Mr Alkali, who recently retired as a major general, was declared missing several weeks ago while travelling from Abuja to Bauchi. His body parts were found in an abandoned well in Guchwet village of Shen district, Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State. Although no medical test has been done to confirm if the body parts found were actually that of Mr Alkali, the army said its investigations confirmed it so. The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has agreed to pay the sum of N22, 500 as new minimum wage for workers, as against the existing N18,000. Chairman of the Forum and Zamfara State Governor, Abdul’Aziz Yari, disclosed this in a statement at the end of an emergency meeting of the governors held on Tuesday in Abuja. In a communiqué issued at the end of the second emergency meeting of the Nigeria Governors' forum held art the NGF secretariat, Abuja, the Governors said salaried workers constitute not more than five percent of the total working population and the interest of the larger population was taken into consideration before arriving at the N22,500 minimum wage. The Leicester City owner’s helicopter has crashed in a car park outside the club’s ground as it left the stadium following a Premier League match. Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha was in the helicopter when it came down at about 20:30 BST on Saturday, a source close to the family has told the BBC. One witness said he saw Leicester player Kasper Schmeichel run out of the stadium towards the scene of the crash. It is not known how many other people were on board the helicopter. Leicester had drawn 1-1 against West Ham United at the King Power Stadium, with the match finishing about one hour before the helicopter took off from the pitch. The Nigerian Law School has released the results for the 2018 bar finals, with 161 students bagging a first class. This is by far the highest ever in the history of legal education in Nigeria. According to a statement by the Council of Legal Education , signed by Isa Hayatou Chiroma, the director general of the Nigerian Law School, 5,846 students took the examination. Of the 5,846 candidates, 4,633 passed the exams, representing 79.25 percent of the total students . In 2017, only 29 students bagged a first class, setting a record as the highest ever. In 2018, 965 stude n ts were recorded to have failed the examination, representing 16.51 percent of those who took the bar finals. The Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu says Bola Tinubu, national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), will be justified if he is angry over the affairs of the state. Tinubu had rejected the reelection bid of Akinwunmi Ambode, governor of Lagos state, throwing his weight behind Jide Sanwo-Olu who eventually emerged the APC governorship candidate. In an interview with PUNCH, Akiolu said he has asked Ambode to leave it (the primary election) to God.
